We started with a complaint, not a product.

Go and read the reviews under any body makeup on the internet. Filter to the one and two stars. You will find the same sentence over and over, written by different women who have never met each other:

“It came off on everything.”

Not “it didn't cover.” Not “the shade was wrong.” Those complaints exist too, but they are quieter. The loud one is transfer. Someone spends an hour getting ready, feels good for the first time in weeks, and then stands up off a cream sofa at someone else's house and sees the mark.

That is the problem RÉVENE was built around. Not coverage — coverage is the easy part. Staying put.

The white towel test

We use one test internally and we tell customers to use it too. Apply, wait ninety seconds, press a white towel against your skin. Nothing should come off.

It's a deliberately unforgiving test. A white towel shows everything. We would rather you run it in your bathroom on day one, before an event, than find out in the worst possible place. If a formula doesn't pass it, it doesn't go out under our name.

What we're honest about

Most brands in this category oversell. We'd rather tell you the limits up front, because a customer who knows what she's buying doesn't ask for a refund:

• Solid black tattoo work is genuinely difficult. You'll usually get it to a shadow, not to gone.
• We cover colour, not texture. A raised scar will match your skin tone and still be raised.
• Applied over body lotion, it will slide. Bare, dry skin or it doesn't work properly.
• Four shades is a range, not a shade-matching service. If yours is wrong, we swap it free rather than pretend the range is wider than it is.

Why four shades and not forty

Body coverage is more forgiving than face makeup — it blends across a much bigger area and nobody is looking at your shin from 30cm away. Four well-spaced shades — 01 Fair, 02 Warm Beige, 03 Bronze, 04 Deep Tan — cover the range properly, and because we swap wrong shades free, the risk of picking sits with us rather than you.

RÉVENE is a UK business shipping from UK stock. Free UK delivery, no minimum. Every order includes the Blend & Buff applicator free, because the applicator genuinely changes the result and we'd rather you have it than not.
