What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — pixels, local storage, SDKs — do comparable things, and where we say “cookies” below we mean all of them.
The categories we use
Strictly necessary
These make the shop work. They remember what's in your basket, keep you logged in, secure the checkout and prevent fraud. They are set by Shopify, which hosts this store. You cannot turn these off without breaking the site, and they do not require consent under UK and EU law.
Typical examples: cart, _secure_session_id, _shopify_m, keep_alive.
Analytics
These tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they drop off, so we can fix what isn't working. The data is aggregated — we're looking at patterns, not at you individually. Set by Shopify Analytics and, where enabled, Google Analytics.
Typical examples: _shopify_s, _shopify_y, _ga.
Marketing and advertising
These let us measure whether an advert actually led to a sale, and show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. Where enabled, these are set by Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Google. This is the category most people want control over.
Typical examples: _fbp, fr, _ttp, _gcl_au.
Your choices
When you first visit, you'll see a cookie banner. You can accept or decline the non-essential categories there, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing the site's cookies in your browser and reloading the page, which brings the banner back.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — every major browser has controls under Settings → Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout from working.
Two further options: Meta's ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences, and Google's at adssettings.google.com.
How long they last
Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last from a few days to around two years depending on their purpose; advertising cookies are typically the longest-lived.
Third parties
We do not control the cookies set by Shopify, Meta, Google, TikTok or payment providers such as PayPal and Shop Pay. Their own privacy and cookie policies apply to the data they collect.
Changes
If we add or remove tools that set cookies, we'll update this page.
